How We Living?
At XLR8 Alpine Racing, we are taught a great many things about how to ski safer, better, and faster, but most importantly we are taught the importance of being a good person and sportsperson.
Today, on my lovely commute to work, I was listening to sports radio, and got to thinking about the phrase, “Who are we? XLR8! Who Are We? XLR8! How We Living? LOUD!” While we always shout these phrases out, how many of us have ever really stopped to think about what it means to “Live LOUD!”
You see living loud isn’t about finishing first or gloating in a victory over a competitor, it is much deeper than that. Living Loud means setting an example of how we conduct ourselves on the ski hill whether we are in our XLR8 Alpine Racing ski gear or not. It means saying, “Hello” and “Thank You” to the chair lift operators. It means helping out another person on the hill. It means congratulating your competitors and teammates regardless of how we personally do. It means winning with class and losing with dignity. It means giving 100% of yourself in every drill and event.
I have personally had the opportunity to travel with XLR8 Alpine Racing to many venues both near and far. I can tell you that people do take notice of how we live. Not only do our racers perform on the hill, but they live loud on the hill and both before and after the race. So, the next time that you have a moment, stop and think of what Living Loud means to you . . . I think that you will find that it is something to embody and use in our everyday lives.
