How do you answer?
Every day we are presented with choices. Those choices can either be perceived as a challenge to overcome or an opportunity waiting to be realized. It’s sort of like the glass is half-full or half-empty analogy that we grew up hearing from our Mom. It is really our own interpretation or perception of how we see the path before us in our minds.
Skiing presents us with these choices all of the time. We often only think of skiing when the weather turns cold, the leaves begin to fall, frost starts to appear on the grass, and our local ski shops start to open. It is at this time, that we begin to transition our thoughts to the first flakes of snow and the first e-mail from our local resort of opening day. However, skiing is there all of the time for the ski racer.
The ski racer thinks about the season before and prepares for the season ahead. They analyze mechanics, conditioning, and gear. They realize the opportunity to get better on and off the snow.
My challenge to you or opportunity to yourself, think of last ski season today. What can you do today that will impact what was perhaps perceived as a challenge to you last year. This is your chance or your opportunity.
Opportunity is knocking? How are you answering?
